Housing Programs Applications and Waiting Lists:
KHA is accepting applications for our housing programs (all waiting lists are not currently open). The HCV (Section 8) program is closed, but applicants can apply for one of our other programs and add their name to the HCV waiting list at the time the list reopens.
To apply for one or more of KHA’s housing programs you will need to follow the steps and acknowledge (or use the word consider) the information below:
- You will apply by using one (1) KHA housing program application to apply for one or more housing program (check the box next to the housing program name you want to apply for that has an open waiting list).
- Applications may be issued and accepted at KHA’s main administration office during normal business hours. KHA provides a “copy” of its Housing Program Application on its website.
- Applying for one (1) or more housing programs has steps containing the following:
- Submitting a “full” application.
- Joining the waiting list.
- Applications will be assessed for eligibility to be approved or denied.
- All applicants will be notified in “writing” if they have been approved or denied and sent by US mail delivery.
- KHA will not accept incomplete applications.
- Currently the estimated waiting period for KHA’s housing programs could be from 6 months to 2 years after submitting a completed application and is eligible for the waiting list.
- The My Wait List Hotline Number is 501-404-4133.
Eligibility:
- Households must meet the areas income limits based on household size (must be at or below 80% of the areas income limits)
- Meet requirements for citizenship or immigration status (at least one household member must have U.S. Citizenship or eligible Immigration status)
- Pass a criminal background check on all household members 18 years and older
- Meet rental history requirements (depending on housing program)
- Based on previous participation in the program or other federally assisted housing programs
- Meet other established HUD and Kennewick Housing Authority (KHA) administrative policies and requirements
- Eligibility requirements and application procedures for KHA’s housing programs vary from other subsidized housing programs.
